Cute $20 Summer outfit? No way!

Yep, you read it right! This outfit only costs twenty dollars. Well it’s under twenty-five dollars if you sport the five dollar flats from Ardene like I do!

First let me remind you that it is the summer of short shorts for me. This summer is all about beating the heat in cool clothing choices, and going out feeling confident and comfortable!

So let’s start with the shorts. They are a size 24 from Rainbow Shops that I purchased on clearance for only $6.99! Rainbow is great, they have great online deals and they have storefronts in most cities in the USA which always have fantastic sales going on. My usual order from Rainbow will tend to be around $80 and I’ll have at least 8 to 12 pieces in my cart, fantastic value. Now Rainbow does only go up to a 3x or size 24, and you do have to do quite a bit of searching to find a good quality piece. But it’s worth the time will definitely continue to shop there.

The top is a 3x from G-Stage Love and it is a staple piece in my closet. The black fabric is very stretchy on the arms and the peplum flare hits me just right on the mid section (which can be hard for me to find being 5’9”). I love this top, I wear it too much and it adds a little bit of class to any outfit. But the best thing about my top is that it was only $12.99! G-Stage Love is also a company that only goes up to a 3x, but you can sometimes find a 4x. I enjoy buying their products, great style for a low price. The only issue I have is that some of their products run a bit small when it comes to the different fabrics used. If it’s a 3x lace type top I’m buying, it’s not going to fit, and I definitely won’t be able to get my fat arms through the arm holes.

Now these shoes are my favourite and I’d like to let you in on a little secret. If you are frugal like me and never want to pay full price for an item then Ardene is the place to buy shoes. I never pay more than $5 for a pair of flats. I know that the shoes are going to be destroyed within a week or two so there’s not point in me wasting money on expensive ones. Ardene has storefronts in Canada and even outlet versions of their stores (even better deals), and they also have an online store. Now I know that the online store ships to the USA but I’m not certain of how many store fronts the USA has. I know that there aren’t any in Southern California, but there maybe be some in the states closer to the Canadian border. Ardene almost always has a shoe sale and my favorite is the 5 pairs for $25 sale. They have a twenty foot wall filled with a very nice selection of flats and sandals ranging from size 5 to 12. If you look online anywhere for $5 shoes you’ll find a poor selection of mostly ugly flats, but Ardene delivers style and comfort at a low price. My wide feet fit just fine in these flats, and they even have extra comfort padding in some styles which is a bonus, all for five dollars!
